University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will resume its entertainment calendar with a performance by Zethe on Wednesday 10 July after the June holidays.  She is the 2017 winner of the Vodacom NXT LVL.  The mobile operator uses this competition to discover raw talent that they could assist to get to the next level and become big in the music industry. Out of 4 contestants that took part in the competition, Zethe came on top which gave her the exposure she needed.

Zethe has performed in some of the biggest stages in South Africa including the SAMA 25 and is the new face of Newtown Junction Mall.  With this show, Zethe will launch her brand new single.  She released her debut album single on the 25th of April 2018. https://itunes.apple.com/za/album/zazi/1373914558?i=1373915612. Whenever this sensational singer takes the stage, her performances always show that dynamites come in small packages.

Her unique voice has earned her a good reputation among those that have witnessed her singing. She was born Zethembiso Mdletshe at Ngwelezane in 1993 and known professionally as Zethe.  This dynamite is based in Johannesburg after pursuing a degree in music, majoring in Jazz from the UKZN where she graduated in 2016. This year she is working on her debut album and doing collaborations with more artists.

She will be joined by Freeman Gumede on bass, Lesedi Thloloe on drums, and Obakeng Thamage on keys at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music which is located at Level 2, Shepstone Building on the Howard College campus.  Cover charge is R80 for the general public, R50 for pensioners while students only pay R25.  Doors open at 17h30 and Zethe’s performance will start at 18h00.
