Multi-award-winning vocalist and songwriter Deelee Dubé and collaborative partner Pierre Flasse unveil their powerful new single “With One Need”, a deeply moving global collaboration that speaks directly to the state of humanity today. Composed and arranged by Pierre, the song brings together an international ensemble of artists whose collective voices form a resonant call for unity, compassion and shared responsibility. Rooted in the African philosophy of Ubuntu – I am because we are – “With One Need” affirms a simple yet urgent truth: despite division, inequality, and unrest, humanity is bound together by one essential need which is love.

Deelee Dubé (vocals), Flasse (piano), and Tefo Mahola (percussion and additional vocals) first connected through Beyond Music, a non-commercial global platform dedicated to fostering intercultural collaboration, compassion, and social awareness through music. What began as a creative exchange quickly evolved into a deeper cultural dialogue – one that transcends geography and genre. A second round of collaboration brought the influence of Saiba Diabate (kora) and Chris Rabbitts (electric bass), resulting in a sound that feels deeply intimate, organic, and borderless. In a time marked by fragmentation, the song insists on listening, empathy, and collective care.

Saiba Diabate is a teacher from the École De Musique de Kirina in Mali, a school that is run by Playing for Change in Mali. Facilitated by Seydou Dembele and Mamadou Diabaté, this is a fantastic organisation that is pivotal to supporting the local community in preserving the Griot heritage and musical traditions. Alongside this, the school offers an educational programme, providing the community with French, Science, and English lessons. The school has also been supported by Damon Alban in the building of a recording studio for the musicians to use. All profits from Bandcamp will be donated to this school to support them in their ongoing work.
